Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Great post, Milly!

I live only about 10 miles from the Robert Frost farm in Derry, NH. Nice place for a walk in the woods!

PS( Are you getting my emails? I have the interview that you promised to do ready to go, and I want to make sure that when I email it, you are going to get it.)

I’ve worked seven days without a day off so I needed a little Robert Frost to relax me.

S.E. Hinton’s book the Outsiders has this poem in it. She’s from Tulsa Oklahoma. I still have three of her books to read. I knew that she had written one more but had no idea she had two children’s books. Her books if you haven’t seen the movies are geared for teens, still The Outsiders and That Was Then This Is Now, are good reads.

“If you want to be a writer, I have two pieces of advice. One is to be a reader. I think that’s one of the most important parts of learning to write. The other piece of advice is ‘Just do it!’ Don’t think about it, don’t agonize, sit down and write.”—S. E. Hinton

It’s fun to me to read the local writers stuff. I have a friend who writes and illustrates children’s books. My children love them.

It's so cool that Danny Kaye can walk where Robert Frost walked.
