He's home

My baby boy is home!He actually jumped into my arms last night.

I love that boy.

He is suppose to be doing his homework I can hear him laughing at the tv on in the other room.

Now he is questioning me, a way to avoid homework.

He is a joy.I still wonder how I could be raising a republican conservative scientist kid. I’m a middle ground, hippie, rock'n roll, boot scoot'n democrat.

God works in strange ways. :-}

Hey Milly,

I wanted to get this to you somehow, since you are an Okie. This email was sent out by my boss:

As many of you know, my granddaughter, [Jane], had an accident back in January 2003 with a paper shedder [She lost the fingers on one of her hands]. My daughter, [Mary], received a call today from her attorney who informed her that Inside Edition is doing a story this week on paper shedders and the dangers of them. [Mary] has allowed them to use a picture of [Jane]'s hand for the story in order to inform others about the potential dangers. Her name won't be disclosed to protect her privacy.

I wanted to let you all know in case you have or know of others with children who would want to watch this so further accidents can be prevented. There have now been 16 cases with the most recent happening in 2005. For those outside of Tulsa, there is a tab of the page attached to see your local listings. Please pass this on to anyone you know with children.

Fun stuff with your boy. I love how we cannot predict them!

Wow, how sad. We always keep it unplugged when not in use. I'll make sure my husband keeps a sharp eye on her when he's shredding.

Thank you. I'm praying for them. It's hard to deal with the lose of fingers. My bro lost half a thumb and his index finger. He laughed when the doc said he wouldn't play tennis. Watch me, was his responce.

Well sure, it was tennis. How could he not play tennis? ;-)

Sorry to hear about his pain, though. This little girl lost her fingers at age 2 or so. I guess it's been pretty sad to watch her learn to dress herself, and things like that. She tries several times before she begins to understand that her hand is not going to work, and decides to try something else.

I remember how my brother would try to button his shirt sleeves. He asked for help from me one night. I laughed with him about not being able to do some stuff. Now you can shake his hand and not even know. He loved playing look my thumb is gone, just couldn’t put it back.

My son said “Uncle *****’s thumb scampered into the woods one day.” He told my son that he sucked it off and it ran away.

I know that she will learn to accommodate her life around it. Being young is so heart breaking. His accident was the summer before his senior year. She has my prayers.
